Latest News! Check my Schedule for new dates including debut at A Street Pub

After a little break, it’s time to get back to the music. Check my schedule for new dates at Wicked Pie Pizza in Puyallup, Myles Pizza Depot in Eatonville, Twisted Fork Saloon in Point Ruston Tacoma, and my debut on March 24th at A Street Pub in Auburn.

Note that Myles Pizza Depot is now serving beer, wine, and ciders. This is still an all-ages place with arcade fun available.

Enjoy Valentine’s Day at Wicked Pie Pizza with heart-shaped pizzas. Love songs will fill the evening including several originals.

I made a promise to myself as well as to people who have been requesting them to play lots more original songs. I am already enjoying the positive response.

I am also trying to get out when I can to hear my friends at their gigs and attend some jams, so I hope to see you out and about. We have an incredible music scene here in and around the Tacoma area.

Thanks to the Tacoma Light Trail for including not just one, but two of my original songs on the trail this year. One was “Dance All Night”, an upbeat tune encouraging the use of music to get through the PNW winter weather. The other one was “Along the Way”, the title track of my album that you can get at any of my gigs, but also listen to on Apple Music and Spodify. Unfortunately most musicians receive nothing from those streaming services, so if you listen to local musicians through those companies, consider a kind tip at a gig or send some love through PayPal or Venmo. If interested, you can throw some “bread in my jar” by using PayPal.me/JamesMeck956 or www.venmo.com/Jim-Meck at any time. Thank you for those who have already done so.

That’s it for now. Hope to see you soon. Cheers!

MARCH MUSIC MADNESS: Wicked Pie, Stuck, Vinifera, Acorn Pub w/ Steve Stefanowicz

Here’s the Latest News!

See my schedule for more info and like and follow my music page Jim Meck (musician) for the most up-to-date info.

Wicked Pie Pizza in Puyallup, WA is a wonderful new venue with some of the best “east coast” style pizza around here. I come from eastern PA and have been looking for something close. It is also a terrific place to play and I will be there the first and third weedends of March, both Friday and Saturday from 6-9.

Stuck Junction Saloon has extended my schedule to include the second Friday of EVERY month through December! This was one of my first venues I played when I moved here six years ago. It is always crazy fun and jammed with great people. Be ready to party!

Vinifera Wine Bar in Auburn, WA is a fantastic venue with excellent food and drinks. Reservations are a good idea if you want to be near the music in the bar area. It is a great date night place or a fun atmosphere for any celebration or gathering with friends.

Finally, I am excited to play an encore performance with local guitar legend Steve Stefanowicz at the Acorn Pub in Edgewood March 26 from 7-9, WA. We worked together for the very first time a few weeks ago – no rehearsal, just two blind guys jamming with lots of improv and great laughs. Get there early for a good seat. It was packed last time.

That’s it for now. I can’t believe two years ago it all came to a grinding halt. We will NEVER take live music for granted again. Thank you for all the continued love and support!

CHEERS!

I have also booked El Gaucho Tacoma on November 24, Thanksgiving Eve.

This Saturday, November 21st I will be returning to Rumors Inc. in Spanaway. Drummer Chuck Jones will be stopping by to throw down some beats as well.

December 10 and every second Friday of the month I will be at Stuck Junction Saloon in Sumner. What a fun and lively crowd every time.

I will be at Vinifera Wine Bar in Auburn on December 17. Reservations are highly recommended.

I also have a few private parties coming up, so book your event now.

Several senior living facilities have also been booking me, so if you know of any place that might be interested, please pass on my info.

Have a fun and safe Holiday Season!

Cheers!

Jim Love and miss you all!

JUST ADDED: Stuck Junction Saloon Friday 9/10, plus others this week

Join me at Stuck Junction Saloon in Sumner, WA this Friday, September 10th from 6-9pm. This is my first time back since the pandemic. Come support live music and help show venues the value of the performing arts in our communities. To quote my friend Phil Stahl, if you want a local live music scene, we have to create it. Hope to see you there.

Other gigs this week include Thursday 9/9 at the Harmon Restaurant in Tacoma, WA from 6:30- 8:30pm. Also remember the big show at the Spanish Ballroom in Tacoma where I will be sitting in for the first time with the Rich Wetzel Groovin Higher Orchestra on Saturday from 7-10. Admission is FREE and is all ages.

Jim Has Dates Out in the Real World: Harmon, Vinifera, Spanish Ballroom (with Rich Wetzel Orchestra)

Gigs have been slowly trickling in as venues start to open and book music. September has gotten suddenly busy. Here are the places and dates:

Harmon Restaurant in Tacoma, WA – 9/4, 9/9, and 9/18 6:30 – 8:30pm
Vinifera Wine Bar in Sumner, WA – 9/24 6:00 – 9:00pm

Spanish Ballroom in Tacoma, WA – 9/11 7:00 – 10:00pm
I will be sitting in with Rich Wetzel’s Groovin Higher Orchestra for the very first time. This ensemble performs lots of classic rock and jazz featuring an excellent horn section. Get ready to dance to the sounds of Santana, Kansas, Doobie Brothers, Toto, Ides of March, and even Maynard Ferguson. Reservations are highly recommended for this very popular venue and band. Hope to see you there.

New YouTube Video – more to come; plus Live FB Shows every Saturday and Pedestrian Serenades Continue…

New YouTube Video!

I finally figured out how to upload videos on YouTube using my screen reader after having to convert my files to something other than MOV files. So there will be more to come. Enjoy my original song DESIGNATED DRINKER with guitar legend Jerry Miller of Moby Grape. He is listed as #68 on Rolling Stone’s list of Top 100 Guitar Players of All-Time.

LIVE FB SHOWS CONTINUED EVERY SATURDAY

Join me every Saturday night at 9PM on the East Coast/6PM on the West Coast and other times in between as I go live from my Facebook pagse Jim Meck (musician). Note: You can watch without a Facebook account. Simply click on the link and when prompted to Sign In or Create hAccount, just click “Not Now”. You will not be able to comment and make requests, but at least you can enjoy.

Pedestrian Serenades are continuing from my front porch in Tacoma, WA as weather and schedules permit. These have been happening mostly on Fridays, but not always. Watch my FB page for that or if you are in Tacoma, watch for posts on the Next Door app. Note: These are not intended to be gathering events, but there is room to spread out safely and hang around for a while. My shows are in the north end of town on N. 29th Street between N. Cedar and N. Alder and I usually play from 5-7pm. This is my version of an “audio Teddy Bear” since people are putting those in windows, but I realized that people who are blind like me can’t see them. So, that is how it all started. Many thanks to my wife for making this happen. And thanks to the neighbors for encouraging this.

VIRTUAL TIP JAR
Many people have asked how they can support me since they are not physically here. If you want to “put bread in my jar”, please use PayPal or Venmo for this. Some folks have also requested my mailing address to send a paper check. I appreciate all the love and support you have shown me over the years with or without monetary donations.

I also want to let you know that when you make a transfer to my Virtual Tip Jar, I do get to read the lovely messages you add, but I have no way to respond individually to them. I am not ignoring the messages, just like I am not ignoring you if you wave to me at my shows since I am blind. Just know that I am grateful for the tips and I hope my music brings you as much joy as it does for me to share it with you, my friends.

Cheers!
Jim
